Privacy Policy
Effective 9 October 2026
In short: Petodoro has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data. Everything the app remembers stays on your device. The only time it goes online is to check whether you've bought Petodoro Plus, which is handled by our payments provider, RevenueCat.
This policy explains how the Petodoro app for Android (package uk.co.sixpaths.petodoro), made by Six Paths Software Ltd ("we", "us"), handles information.
Information we collect
We don't collect any personal information, and we have no servers of our own for the app. Petodoro contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
Petodoro Plus purchases
Petodoro Plus is an optional one-off purchase. You pay through Google Play (or the App Store on iPhone), so we never see your name, email address or payment details.
To know whether you own Plus, and to let you restore it on a new phone, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that checks purchases with the store on our behalf. When the app starts, and when you buy or restore Plus, it sends RevenueCat:
- a random identifier created by the app, which isn't linked to your name or account
- the store's record of your purchase
- basic technical details: the app version, your phone's operating system and version, and your country and language settings
RevenueCat will also see your IP address, as any internet service does. It uses this information only to provide purchase checking to us, and keeps it under its privacy policy. Google or Apple handle the payment itself under their own privacy policies.
If you never open the Shop or buy Plus, the app still checks with RevenueCat when it starts, so that Plus bought on another device can be recognised.
RevenueCat is based in the United States, so this information may be processed there. RevenueCat acts on our behalf under a data processing agreement, which includes the safeguards UK and EU data protection law require for transfers outside the UK and EEA. It keeps purchase records for as long as we use its service, so your purchase can be restored.
The treats you earn by focusing, and the food and toys you buy with them in the treat shop, are free and stay on your device. They're never bought with money and aren't sent to RevenueCat.
Who's responsible, and why
Six Paths Software Ltd is the data controller for the purchase information described above. We use it to provide Petodoro Plus to you, which is a contract you've chosen to enter, and, for the check when the app starts, because we have a legitimate interest in making sure Plus you've paid for works on every device you use.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law, you can ask us for a copy of the information held about you, or to correct or delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Because RevenueCat's identifier is random and isn't linked to your name or email, we may need your help to find your record: email us from the device that has Petodoro installed and we'll explain how. If we delete your purchase record, you can restore Plus afterwards from the store.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live.
What's stored on your device
So the app can pick up where you left off, it saves a small amount of information in its private storage on your phone:
- your timer settings (session lengths, rounds before a long rest, daily target, sound and screen preferences)
- which pet you've chosen, and the names, outfits, places and care you've given your pets
- your focus sound and its volume, your chime, and any timer routines you've saved
- your treats, and the food and toys you've bought with them in the treat shop
- the state of the current timer
- your focus history: how many sessions and minutes you've focused each day, and which pets and festival items that has unlocked
- your birthday, only if you choose to add it, so the app can celebrate it: just the day and month, never the year
- whether you own Petodoro Plus
None of this is sent anywhere by Petodoro. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes it. If you've turned on Android's device backup, Android may include this app data in your backup to your Google account. That backup is handled by Google under your account settings, and we can't access it.
Permissions
- Notifications: to tell you when a focus session or break has ended. Notifications are scheduled on your device only. You can turn them off at any time in Android settings.
- Alarms and reminders (exact alarms): so the end-of-session notification arrives on time, even when your phone is asleep.
- Vibration: for a gentle buzz when a session ends.
- Keep the screen awake: optional, so the screen stays on while a timer runs.
- Audio settings: to play the chime at the end of a session, and the focus sounds you choose.
- Internet access: to check Petodoro Plus purchases with RevenueCat, as described above.
- Google Play billing: to let you buy Petodoro Plus through Google Play.
Petodoro does not use your microphone, camera, location, contacts or files.
Children
Petodoro doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. Buying Plus goes through the store, where Google's and Apple's family and parental controls apply.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
